Unit 10: My Overview

After I’ve reviewed my unit 3 personal assessment of your psychological, physical, and spiritual well-being; I’ve found that I rated my physical wellbeing at an 8. I rated my spiritual wellbeing at a 9 and I rated my psychological wellbeing at a 9 on a scale from 1 to 10 in unit 3. How do you score yourself now? Well based on my reflections upon my assessment of my health now, I rate my physical wellbeing at a 9. I rate my spiritual wellbeing at a 10 and I rate my psychological wellbeing at a 10. I believe that I have some work to be completed upon the type of body that I once had in 2011. My life took many different turns, which includes many different schedule changing’s. Has the score changed? Yes my score have changed and it changed upon the right path towards a greater and healthier me (which I love).

After reviewing my goals and activities I set for myself in each area, I have made progress toward my goals. For instance, my goal upon my physical wellbeing is to lose ten pounds of fat and gain ten by pounds of muscles by February 31, 2013. So I still have some time to go with this goal, but everything is on schedule thus far. I shall also create a new and better gym schedule by the end of January 31, 2013. My goal upon my spiritual wellbeing is for me to attend Bible study every Thursday, since I have already started this past November. My goal upon psychological is to maintain my high level of a peace of mind upon life itself every day and night before I go to bed.

I have implemented my activities I chose for my well-being in each of the three areas as fellow I have been performing an hour and a half on the treadmill and added physical activities such as cleaning and yard work; in order to reach and maintain my goal upon physical well-being. I read (as well as memorize) more prayers every day, in order to maintain my goal upon spiritual well-being. I practice clearing my mind and writing down anything that is troubling me (with any solution that is a lager threat to my health) before I go to sleep at night, which will help me move toward my goals through practices upon my personal health.

To summarize my personal experience throughout this course I would say this is highlight of my learning, which everyone around me shall benefit from my knowledge and sight beyond sight upon integral health.  Yes I have developed improved well-being from the lessons of this wonderful course. This course improved my personal health and wellness as well as altered my professional services I will be providing. I have learned so much throughout this course, but the one thing that’s a rewarding to me is channeling my perception within a positive light upon situations, without comparing and contrasting them within the darkness of negative. The strengths of this lesson is that it opens the doors to channel into a stronger and healthier mindset, which leads towards higher levels of success and opportunities by stopping the revolving door of negativity. Thus, channeling me into a stronger and healthier me as a person as well as a professional, so that I can lead others over and beyond their ideal stage of health and wellness. The only thing that I seen difficult for me is leaving this wonderful class~

Unit 8 Optimal Well-being

***_Greetings and salutations everyone, I hope that everyone is feeling blessed to have awaken upon this beautiful day of overall life. I’m happy to have practiced with these exercises such as Loving Kindness and Visualization. I believe that these exercises help mentally bring us back to a fresh page upon our book of life, thus we as human beings need to make these exercises a way of life rather than just a practice. In addition, we must use the art of relaxation and visualization in order to walk our individual path to health and wellness. For instance, If I’m inside the house, I would turn off everything and lie back within my loveseat (which is the one of the most comfortable place to relax at my home) close my eyes as I quiet my mind. This element assists Loving Kindness through the use of visualization, which helps restore myself to heath. I believe that if you cannot see your own path, how can ones walk upon it and assure that they are headed down the correct direction to their destination of the land of true health and wellness. The best way that I could implement mental workouts, relaxation, and visualization to foster my psychological health is for me to create/schedule time (just like I would for work at my job) a few times throughout the week with the uses of nature CDs, which includes sounds such as a loving waterfall that brings a mist of appreciation upon life itself.

Unit 7~ Meeting Aesclepius

***__Well good evening everyone, I hope that everyone is enjoying and having a safe holiday with their family, friends, and loved ones. After experiencing the “Meeting Aesclepius” I still feel the same about too much talking for me. In addition, I do not like how they sound a little bit like a computer. I would rather have just the elements of the waves and wind, but I still tried my best with going with the flow of this exercise just for the experience itself. This is good practice for me to take with me when I go to the lake to clear my mind. It’s nice to have as well as learn new techniques upon completing my goal of clearing my mind of negativity and enter health and wellness. Mindfulness and meditation both have fostered an increase in my psychological as well as spiritual wellness since 2010 when I would go to the lake and meditate for as long as an hour. Well the saying “One cannot lead another where one has not gone himself” is self explanatory (to me that is). I believe this because the best coaches, professors, doctors, and leadings are the ones who not only walked down that path in life, but also implanted signs to guide others in the right direction in order for them to find and take higher directions upon new ways to overall health and wellness. This is how we as humans come together as one in order for us all to life a happier and healthier lifestyle with these new finds for a better and healthier you and me. This is not only my obligation to grow my health psychologically, physically, and spiritually, but it’s our as one.

Universal Loving-Kindness & Meditation~

***_Well hello everyone, I hope that everyone is having a safe and enjoyable Holiday shopping season and traveling. After practicing the universal Loving Kindness (meditation) exercise, I couldn’t help but to think about all of the recent shootings that’s been occurring around the world. Maybe there wouldn’t be any more shooting upon children schools, movie theaters, hospitals, salons or anywhere at that matter; if we all practice universal Loving Kindness. The whole world needs to close their eyes, open their hearts, and for a moment rest into the natural ease of their mind and body, in order to gain freedom from all suffering. Thus we as human beings can locate and position sustained health, happiness, and wholeness together and not just as individuals, because we are not alone in this world where we call home. Yes, I believe that we all should take this exercise and assessment so that our area of difficulty and suffering may surface and diminish from whichever infective aspect of our individual life. What I have discovered about myself is that maybe I’m not spreading enough love-kindness far enough, where at that point someone else can than start to spread love-kindness until we reach everyone who is not aware that they truly need of it. With that said I shall focus on all areas of growth and development, because I’m starting to believe that if we all take these steps of development, we all shall grow upon a healthier and safer world. What are some specific activities I can implement to foster greater wellness?  I’m thinking of meditation through held group gatherings in person, Skype, or anonymous seminars to foster a greater path to wellness for not only myself, but for us all.

Mental Fitness~

***_Greetings every, I hope that everyone is feeling blessed to have awaken upon this beautiful day of overall life. I’m happy to have practiced with these exercises this weekend. I believe that these exercises help mentally bring us back to a fresh page upon our book of life, thus we as human beings need to make these exercises a way of life rather than just a practice. Not only would I recommend these exercises to others, but I have recommended these exercises to one of my friends who really need it due to unmanaged and unbalanced stress upon her life. Now when it comes to mental workout, our brain is a muscle which requires not only rest and relaxation, but the progressive development of an expanded consciousness. According to Dacher, “The most meaningful aim of contemplative practice is not rest and relaxation but rather the progressive development of an expanded consciousness and its healing capacities”(pg.65, 2006). The best way that I could implement mental workouts to foster my psychological health is for me to create/schedule time (just like I would for work at my job) a few times throughout the week.

Unit III ~Optimal Well-being~

~Based on my reflections, and on a scale of 1 to 10, I rate my physical wellbeing at an 8. I rate my spiritual wellbeing at a 9 and I rate my psychological wellbeing at a 9. I believe that I have some work to be complete upon the type of body that I once had last year. My life took many different turns (I may mention them later), which includes many different schedule changing. Spiritual is an area I’ve been working upon through life changes that recently occurring within my life, but there’s always room for improvements. Psychological is an important area, because it ties physical and spiritual together; thus it’s necessary to maintain a well balanced level upon these elements. My goal upon my physical wellbeing is to lose ten pounds of fat and gain ten by pounds of muscles by January 31, 2013. I shall also create a new gym schedule by December 2012. My goal upon my spiritual wellbeing is for me to attend Bible study every Thursday, since I have already started last week. My goal upon psychological is to have a more of a peace of mind upon life itself every night before I go to bed. I shall perform an hour on the treadmill and added physical activities such as cleaning and yard work; in order to reach my goal upon physical well-being. I shall read (and memorize) more prayers every day, in order to reach my goal upon spiritual well-being. I shall practices clearing my mind and writing down anything that is troubling me (with a solution) before I go to sleep at night, which will help me move toward my goals.

The Crime of the Century relaxation exercise doesn’t sound anywhere near what it actually is, but I thought it was pretty nice to experience (if you never experienced it before). I like the sound of the exercise, but I do not care too much about the narrator, because I already know what to do and I love to flow with the elements of sound upon the exercise (music). On the other hand, there are people who are not familiar with these exercises, thus the need of the narrator is there. I believe this relaxation exercise is beneficial, because everyone needs that one moment a day to reset their body and mind as well as clearing the mind of daily clutter of information. Even our cell phones need to power down and rest once a day, because our phones share information and connects too many different towers in order to keep us connected at all times. More forward, in the mist of connecting to different towers, our phones would have to continue switching back and forward tower to tower to stay connected, which creates clutter. I’m now more aware of overloading of the mind and finding a balance of psychological, spiritual, and physical well-being. So tell me, when are you going to free your mind today?

Unit II Relaxations Exercise~

Well I must say that I’m used to practicing relaxation exercises, due to the stressful life that I was born into. This form I still use currently in my life (not a lot). One thing for sure is that I do not have to do several of these breathing technique to get me relaxed, all I need is a few with my eyes closed. If I’m inside the house, I would turn off everything and lie back within my loveseat (which is the one of the most comfortable place to relax at my home) close my eyes as I quiet my mind. I would also use visualizations, Thus, I can use to restore myself to heath. For instances, sailing, watching a waterfall, walking lake side, watching the sunset and sunrise upon any form of body of water are wonderful visualizations that work best for me. There just something about the way the wind softly blows through my body; how lovely the sound of the water moving and the birds soaring above my head, how the sand feels beneath my feet, the scent of the fresh water as it mist onto my face, and the beautiful sight of witnessing such a beautiful work of art that God has in place every day for us to appreciate. I’m used to nature CDs, which I started because of my ex-girlfriend would play them every time we would study together. I like nature CDs over these relaxations exercise CDs, because the person’s voice seem like a distraction to me.
